Christine Christen

Christine Christen grew up on a farm in western Minnesota, went to college for business management and has owned and operated a Garden Center (Christen Farm Nursery) in Wisconsin for 20 years. She has an extensive knowledge of all aspects of gardening and the challenging avenues of dealing with nature. She therefore knows and appreciates the value of being able to get a head start by planting in a warm straw bale. Her daughter and Garden Center Manager, Lisa Rensberry introduced her to this concept after hearing about it on Wisconsin Public Radio. They immediatly signed up for a 3 hour seminar hosted by Joel Karsten and have been doing seminars and teaching people to Straw Bale Garden ever since. The rewards of gardening are always bountiful, but according to Christine and Lisa the rewards of teaching people to garden are even more bountiful.
