Original I started as a agricultural educated and trained person. But after about five years photography came on my path…so for more than 40 years a pro photographer but always the soil kept creeping into my fingers. Since we landed as a expat couple in Hungary I picked up my old love for soil again and we both were into perma culture completely. Since the changing climate conditions we were looking to more sustainable and easier ways of growing our crops. It was then when I remembered how at school we learned about pro’s who did grow there cucumbers in straw bales that were digged into the soil and at almost that very same moment straw bale gardening came into our lives. Right now we are completely into growing almost all our crops that way. Besides growing for ourselves we also try to convince people in our village and in the region to put their energy into that method. Next to gardening we also promote the use of solar techniques, such as a our home build solar ovens. The change to sustainable thinking is both economic based as it is out of awareness over what our planet needs to remain a source of supplies for further generations.
