Jeff Brubaker

I have been gardening for most of my life. My grandfather had a 3 acre garden and I think I might have gotten the “bug” from him. I have been straw bale gardening for the past 4 years now with great success. After 38 years I retired from the Ohio Air National Guard in 2013 and took my first Master Gardener class the next spring. I am a member of the Henry County Master Gardeners and this past August I was asked to bring one of my bales to the Henry County Fair in Napoleon Ohio and I gave presentations two different days on straw bale gardening during the Henry County Master Gardeners program. I help out at a local greenhouse in the spring and I use some of this information to help people in my local area. I am also the Mayor of Hamler Ohio and have been taking care of some of the flower beds here in town. I serve as a volunteer fireman and a medical first responder and was formerly the Fire Chief of the Hamler Volunteer Fire Department, and current Board President of the Henry County South Joint Ambulance District.
