My passion for gardening started as a child and has grown with me. I love plants and experimenting with different methods of growing; whether it’s taking cuttings, growing something new from seed or trying my hand at grafting, but my favorite new method of growing is definitely in straw bales!

In 2013, Joel Karsten sparked my interest during a presentation. I immediately bought his book, “Straw Bale Gardens”, read it cover to cover, and started my own 40 bale garden in my urban front yard.

I was originally trained as a landscape designer, but have become increasingly interested in edible landscaping and growing food, which led me to become a Certified Urban Farmer.

Not only is it fun, but I also think it’s important for people to know how to grow their own food and think straw bale gardens are an easy way for people to try it out.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences with others and helping people learn how to grow their own food in straw bale gardens.
