After hearing Joel a number of years ago at an annual gardening show, I began adding straw bale gardening to my already established garden. Since that time, (probably 4 years) I have been having great success using his method and am presently ready to plant my conditioned bales. I like to use 5 bales in a group (3 in the back and 2 in the front) in an arc which makes an eye catching backdrop and corner to my garden. I would be glad to share what I have learned with others.
