My friend, Candy shared with me the email from Marjory Wildcraft regarding the free online event “Grow Your Own Groceries” Summit on April 6th -12th 2015. Wow, that was a great Event. All the webinars were great, The Straw Bales webinar really stood out to me the most. I have always dabbled in some form of gardening, so after seeing your webinar, I went out and bought 12 bales and then added 3 more. I first placed them where my banana trees were. After about a week of conditioning them I realized that would not be a great spot because of lack of sun. Since a majority of our yard is Zoysia grass, my husband’s favorite, I moved the bales to our driveway. That turned out to be a great spot. I grew Okra, lecture, bean, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers, all kinds of tomatoes and squash. I even planted some flower on the sides of the bales. I had three trellises being held up only by the bales. After a storm, I had to anchor them with 5 gallon dog shampoo jugs and kitty litter container all filled with water. That did the job all the way to the end. I had a great success for the first year, that I have 30 bales ready to be placed and conditioned.
It was so easy to grow veggies. No weeds and not too many tomato worms or bugs. I have shared my adventure with everyone I know and have received great comments. Several people are interested in growing this way. I look forward to learning more to be a great instructor.

Joel thank you for share your technique.
